User-friendly Android™ Interface
The DP-X1A is based on the intuitive Android platform powered by a very fast quad-core CPU. It can support heavy processing loads and high-function apps. The familiar touch display allows for flick, tap, and scrolling gestures, just like a regular smartphone. All icons and physical buttons are positioned for comfortable operation.
Dual-band Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, and Audio Outputs
Dual-band 5 GHz/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi® supports streaming from on-demand music apps downloaded from Google Play. Bluetooth® with Qualcomm® aptX™ enhancement for near-lossless playback lets you mirror content from DAP to a wireless speaker or car stereo system. Analog and digital audio outputs connect you up to integrated amps and home stereos, meaning you can play 576 GB* of music, plus streaming, podcasts, and more on virtually any audio system.

Plays MQA*, Tomorrow’s Hi-Res Audio Format
MQA is not typical Hi-Res Audio with a higher bit rate or higher sampling rate. It is a completely new and different way of capturing, delivering, and reproducing audio performances, and it preserves the magic of the original studio recording in a format that is still small enough to stream.

Twin DACs and Amps with Custom Capacitors
Twin SABRE® DACs (ES9018K2M) and amplifiers (9601K) are laid out symmetrically and served by separate capacitors. These custom Nippon Chemi-Con “MELODIO” Series-based electro-conductive polymer capacitors (a total of eight are used in the device) assure a stable power supply and vastly improved sound quality.
Noise-Isolating Circuit Design
Similar to the build used in hi-fi stereo receivers, the DAC/amp board is separated from the CPU board to minimize noise and maximize performance. Within the DAC and amp board, the audio circuitry and power supply are also separated to reduce noise. The DACs and amps each have their own fully customized capacitors to provide a clean audio signal. A unique closed loop design further improves audio signal quality.
Configured for Balanced Audio Output
Connect your headphones via 2.5 mm 4-pole output to enable Balanced Audio Output with both DACs and amps employed to drive left and right channels. Two modes are available: BTL, to increase driving power, and ACG mode for enhanced stability. Both modes offer a tangible increase in headroom and spatial dimensionality. Whether used in balanced or unbalanced mode, transparent audio reproduction gives insight and dynamic response you just can’t experience with a smartphone.
DSD Conversion
Turn on Real-Time DSD Conversion and the DP-X1A converts music files such as MP3, WAV, and FLAC into DSD-quality audio. Use of oversampling and pushing bit quantization outside the audible spectrum allows for very clear signals. Everything sounds great!
Manage Your Music Easily
Manage and transfer your non-DRM protected music to the DP-X1A. Onkyo X-DAP Link software for Windows® PC searches your music libraries, including music purchased from other services, and transfers the song and related metadata to the selected storage location on the device.
Universal Audio Format Support
The DP-X1A smoothly handles all popular compressed and lossless audio formats. Supporting up to Direct DSD 11.2 MHz and 384 kHz/24-bit non-encoded audio in WAV, FLAC, ALAC, and AIFF formats, the device is also sympathetic to lower-quality compressed formats such as MP3 and AAC.
Direct Access to Hi-Res Audio Downloads and Streaming
Onkyo Music is a music download service for Hi-Res Audio albums. Install the Onkyo Music app and there is no need to sync with a home computer. Music can be purchased and downloaded directly from the app within the player. Note service is subject to regional availability.
High Precision Equalizer
With up to 16,384 discrete bands to select from, and the ability to save up to 1,000 EQ profiles, the linear-phase FIR equalizer offers high-definition equalization with zero loss in audio quality.
