Qdeo™ processing technology from Marvell ensures pristine deinterlacing, noise-reduction, and 1080p upscaling of all your optical disc-based video sources including DVD. There are two gold-plated HDMI® outputs allowing you to switch between two displays, such as a main TV for daily viewing and a projector for movies and sports. Whether you’re playing high-definition DTS and Dolby formats or compressed MP3s, audio benefits from a high-precision clock, separate blocks for video/audio circuitry to reduce interference, and a vibration-reducing chassis and top cover. As well as playing both regular and recordable 3D Blu-ray Discs, DVDs, and CDs, the BD-SP809 also features a USB port so you can enjoy selected audio and video formats via compatible USB flash memory devices. It all adds up to a virtuoso playback solution for the dedicated fan of quality home entertainment.

1080p Video Upscaling and Processing via Qdeo™ Technology
The BD-SP809 offers full 1080p upscaling of standard video sources such as 576i/p, 720p, and 1080i. Interlaced-to-progressive conversion and scaling are performed by high-quality Qdeo technology from Marvell. Qdeo is a versatile video processor that uses algorithms designed to erase video noise and artifacts such as jaggies and feathering. Played back on a compatible wide-screen display, your Blu-ray Discs and DVDs will look more detailed and cinematic than ever.
High-Grade Build Quality with Rigid Chassis
The BD-SP809 is crafted with typical Onkyo attention to build quality. Internal components that can cause vibrations are fixed directly onto the high-rigidity chassis or near the feet of the unit. Since the feet themselves have a large circumference, they provide further protection from vibrations. The BD-SP809 features an independent digital and analog block design that reduces electromagnetic interference from the system-power, drive-mechanism, and signal-processing circuits. Further proof of this player’s superior build quality comes in the form of gold-plated audio and video outputs and 19 mm-pitch audio outputs for connection to high-grade cable.
