Onkyo to Release Adaptor for Use with the RI Dock for the iPod (DS-A1) and Apple's iPod® nano

Onkyo’s RI Dock for the iPod (DS-A1) will accommodate Apple’s iPod nano for audio playback with Onkyo components featuring RI (Remote Interactive) capability. As with other compatible iPods, it will be possible to operate the iPod nano via remote control and to charge the iPod nano when the DS-A1 is connected to a power supply.

Due to the iPod nano’s slimline build, there is a possibility of damage to the mobile device if it is carelessly connected to the dock, for example, with excessive force. To counter this, Onkyo has developed an adaptor that will support iPod nano and ensure that it is connected correctly (please refer to the diagram below).

Regarding Users of the DS-A1
The adaptor will be available to existing users of the DS-A1 from November 2005.
For further information, please contact your nearest distributor.

Regarding the Distribution of the DS-A1 with the Adaptor
Onkyo will ship the DS-A1 package (including the adaptor) in November 2005. We will also affix a sticker to the package to ensure that the public is aware of its compatibility.
