Why don't my Windows(R) Media Audio (WMA) lossless files play back through the Net-Tune™ compatible receiver ? (NB: This new "lossless" format was recently introduced in Windows Media(R) Player 9.)

What type of music files can I play?

Net-Tune™ compatible receivers are compatible with MP3 (both fixed and variable bitrates), WMA, and WAVE format music files.

The receiver's display shows the word "DISCONNECTED", and it doesn't appear to be operating. What should I do?

The receiver may not be properly connected to the network. Please check the following:
  1. Is the Ethernet cable properly connected between the receiver and your PC?;
  2. Are the router and hub receiving power?;
  3. Is the Net-Tune™ Central software running properly?;
  4. Are the DHCP settings for your broadband router and Windows(R) OS valid?

What should I do if the audio signal skips during playback?

Make sure you aren't running too much memory-intensive software, including software that automatically launches at start-up. You may need to quit other applications to prevent the audio signal from skipping.

What should I do if certain MP3, WMA or WAVE files won't play?

There are two possible reasons for this problem:
  1. Those files may be corrupted. Check by playing them through another media player, such as Windows(R) Media Player;
  2. Net-Tune™ cannot handle WMA files that are protected by copyright. To avoid this problem, change the relevant settings when making WMA files on Windows(R) Media Player.

What should I do if Net-Tune™ won't run the music distribution function properly within the Windows(R) XP environment?

This problem may be caused by operating a firewall. If so, you need to change your PC's firewall setting. For more information, click here.

Can I connect my PC to multiple Net-Tune™ compatible receivers?

Yes. You can connect up to three Net-Tune™ compatible receivers to your PC at any one time.

Can I operate a Net-Tune™ compatible receiver over a wireless LAN?

We don't recommend using Net-Tune™ over a wireless LAN. Factors such as the lay-out of your PC and receiver or the stability of the transmitted signal may cause the audio signal to skip.

Can I record to MD or MP3?

For copyright protection, Net-Tune™ compatible receivers cannot output digital signals. So you can only record to MD or MP3 via analog signals.

Although I connect using a router, the Net-Tune™ compatible receiver doesn't find a server. What should I do?

Multiple DHCP servers may operate in a network. Not only the router, but also certain PCs have the DHCP function. Please check each device's DHCP setting in a network.

When I change music servers, the Net-Tune™ compatible receiver doesn't find the new server. What should I do?

The Net-Tune™ compatible receiver has a function that automatically searches for the previously connected server. Thus, if you want to change to a new music server, please select "Music server?" from the Network Setup in the Setup Menu.

If the new server name doesn't appear in the menu, please try turning off the receiver, and turning it on again.

Why don't my Windows(R) Media Audio (WMA) lossless files play back through the Net-Tune™ compatible receiver ? (NB: This new "lossless" format was recently introduced in Windows Media(R) Player 9.)

Since WMA "lossless" uses a different audio codec to compress the CD Audio, a special decoder is needed to play back these files. Net-Tune™ uses the standard WMA decoder and is not compatible with this new format at this time.

The Internet radio function on Net-Tune components is no longer available as the iMerge service has been discontinued.
This affects the following products: TX-NR1000, TX-NA1000, TX-NR901, TX-NR900, TX-NR801, NC-500, and RDC-7.1
