Net-Tune
Q
What should I do if Net-Tune™ won’t run the music distribution function properly within the Windows® XP environment?
A
Unlike earlier Windows®OSs, Windows® XP is equipped with a firewall function as standard. Net-Tune™ won’t operate when this function is activated. This is because the firewall blocks the TCP/UDP communication that Net-Tune™ uses. To solve this problem, use either of the methods shown below to change the settings on your PC.
line
Solution 1 : Deactivate the Firewall Function.

(1) On your PC, open the "Local Area Connection Properties" file and click on the "Advanced" tab.

(2) Remove the tick from the box marked "Internet Connection Firewall".

(3) Restart your PC.

(In place of the firewall, your router can protect your PC from unwanted interference from the Internet. If you choose this solution, you need to change the security settings of your router.)

Solution 2 : Make Two New Ports for Net-Tune and Deactivate the Firewall Function for them only.

(1) As with Solution 1, click on the "Advanced" tab in the "Local Area Connection Properties" file. Then select "Settings".

(3) Edit the "Service Settings", following the procedure below. This makes a port for Net-Tune CMND.

• Type "Net-Tune CMND" in the "Description of service" box;

• Enter the segment number* of your router in the "Name or IP address..." box;

• Enter the default number "60096" in the "External Port..." and "Internal Port..." boxes;

*The "XXX" part of "192.168.XXX.255" differs depending on your network environment.

(4) Following the method outlined in (2) and (3) above, make another port for Net-Tune PUSH. Enter "Net-Tune PUSH", your segment number, and the default number "60097".

(5) Tick the "Net-Tune CMND" and "Net-Tune PUSH" boxes.
